Major Update for Value Guests: Disney World Officially Brings Back Fan-Favorite Free Service

Guests planning a stay at Walt Disney World are getting another reason to consider booking onsite. Disney has quietly brought back a service that adds real convenience without requiring any major changes to how you plan your trip.

It’s not tied to rides or entertainment, but it affects something every traveler deals with at some point. And for many guests, that’s exactly why it matters.

The Core Perks That Come With Staying Onsite

Disney resorts are designed to make vacations easier.

Transportation is one of the biggest advantages. Guests can move between parks and hotels by bus, boat, the Skyliner, and the monorail system without worrying about parking or navigation.

Early Entry gives resort guests access to the parks before the general public, helping them experience attractions with shorter waits.

Planning ahead is also easier. Guests staying onsite can book Lightning Lane selections earlier than off-property visitors, and dining reservations offer greater flexibility.

These perks combine to create a more organized and predictable experience.

Extra Benefits Reserved for Select Resort Guests

Some guests have access to additional perks depending on where they stay.

Deluxe Resort and Deluxe Villa guests can take advantage of Extended Evening Hours, allowing them to stay in select parks after closing on certain nights. With fewer crowds, it offers a more relaxed environment.

Even for guests who don’t stay at those resorts, Disney has brought back a benefit that improves the overall travel experience.

Disney’s Free Perk Makes a Comeback

Disney’s Airport Luggage Transfer service is back and continuing through 2026, giving guests a more convenient way to handle their luggage.

Instead of bringing bags to the airport, guests can drop them off at their resort. Disney then handles transporting those bags to the airport and into the airline system.

There’s no separate Disney service charge involved. Guests still pay any airline baggage fees, but Disney handles the transfer at no extra cost.

The service is currently available for guests flying with Southwest Airlines through Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Participating resorts include Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

How the Process Works

The setup is straightforward.

After arriving at your resort, you can contact Luggage Assistance or visit them to arrange the service. Keeping your Southwest bag tags on your luggage can help speed up the process.

On your travel day, you’ll check in for your flight and drop your bags off at the resort instead of taking them with you.

Disney then handles the rest, getting your luggage to the airport and into the airline’s system.

Bags should be dropped off at least four hours before departure. Luggage Assistance can receive bags throughout the day, allowing for flexible timing.

Guests will need to show a valid ID, and luggage can be tracked using airline confirmation details.

The service can also be used upon arrival, allowing guests to move their bags between the airport and the resort without handling them directly.

What This Means for Value Resort Guests

This perk is especially useful for guests staying at Value Resorts.

While these hotels are more affordable, they haven’t always offered the same level of convenience as higher-tier options. This service helps balance that out.

Managing luggage during travel can add stress, and removing that step makes everything feel easier.

Guests can focus more on their plans and less on logistics, thereby improving the overall experience.

A Small Change That Makes a Big Difference

Disney’s decision to bring this service back may seem small, but it has a real impact.

Airport Luggage Transfer takes a common travel challenge and simplifies it. When combined with transportation, Early Entry, and planning benefits, it strengthens the case for staying onsite.

It’s a practical update that helps make the entire trip feel smoother without altering how guests experience the parks.
