After three weeks of voting, we are now down to the Final Four in the Disney Fanatic March Madness Tournament, to name the best ride at Walt Disney World. The tournament started with 32 rides in four separate brackets. We will update the brackets every Saturday until there is one winner of Disney World’s Best Ride.

Let’s take a look back at the winners from last week’s March Madness Tournament and then update the matchups for next week’s Final Four.

How it Works

We took the best 32 rides at Walt Disney World and broke them into four brackets. The rides/attractions are grouped based on the types of rides and given a seeding one through eight.

The four brackets are: Thrill rides, Old School rides, New Tech rides, and rides based on characters.

We will then collect votes from the comments below and Facebook comments to determine the winners of each opening-round matchup.

The Elite 8 results and Final Four matchups are presented below. We will publish the results every Saturday and the next matchups until we have a winner.

Elite 8 Winners

Thrill Rides Bracket:

1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad vs. 3 Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind

Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain had easy wins over Test Track and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to get to the Elite 8 but quickly ran into a buzzsaw in Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind. Guardians knocked off Tron in the tournament’s first round and Tower of Terror in the Sweet 16.

Despite being a fan-favorite, Big Thunder Moutain is heading back to Frontierland. Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind won 70 percent of the vote en route to winning the Thrill Rides Bracket.

“Old School” Bracket

1. Haunted Mansion vs. 3. Pirates of the Caribbean

Two classic Magic Kingdom rides faced on in the “old school” bracket finals. Haunted Mansion crushed Dumbo and Kilimanjaro Safaris to get to the Elite 8, while Pirates slipped past the Jungle Cruise and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover.

But the boat ride ends for Pirates of the Caribbean this week. Haunted Mansion once again dominated its competition, winning 75 percent of the vote and taking home the “old school” bracket.

New Tech Bracket

4. Avatar Flight of Passage vs. 2. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Avatar was the only remaining ride from Animal Kingdom. It was able to upset Mission: Space and Soarin’ to get to the Elite 8. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance took out Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad.

The flight ends here for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance won 60 percent of the vote and the new technology bracket.

Character Bracket

4. Slinky Dog Dash vs. 6 Peter Pan’s Flight

Somehow, someway, Peter Pan keeps winning. What is it about this ride? It beat Frozen Ever After and Journey Into Imagination with Figment to get to the Elite 8. At the same time, Slinky Dog took out Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

But this is where the flight to Neverland ends for Peter Pan. Despite taking out two fan favorites, Peter Pan only won 35 percent of the vote, with Slinky Dog taking the other 65 percent and winning the character bracket.

The Final Four

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind vs. The Haunted Mansion

It’s hard to find two more different rides at Disney World. Guardians represents the new era in Disney World thrill rides, while Haunted Mansion is the classic attraction touched by the greatest Disney Imagineers and blessed by Walt Disney. This will be a tough choice for fans.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance vs. Slinky Dog Dash

Two entries in the tournament’s Final Four represent Hollywood Studios. Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge vs. Toy Story Land. The two adjacent lands at Hollywood Studios couldn’t be more different. One represents the whimsy and hopefulness of childhood, while the other transports you to a galaxy far, far away.

Choosing between these two immersive rides is going to be difficult for fans. Sadly, only one can prevail.

Those are the best eight remaining rides in our Disney World March Madness Tournament. Now, it’s your turn. Let us know your vote in each of the eight matchups in the comments. We will tabulate the votes and publish the results on March 30.

Check back every Saturday, and we’ll update the brackets until there is one winner.

So, what will be the Walt Disney World’s best ride? It’s your time to decide.
